Veteran Congress Leader Veerappa Moily Retires from Electoral Politics
Bengaluru: Veteran Congress leader, former Karnataka Chief Minister, Veerappa Moily announced his retirement from electoral politics at 84. Though reportedly interested in running for the Chikkaballapur seat, the party chose a younger candidate.
Moily emphasized his lack of disappointment and urged his supporters to back the new candidate. He plans to stay active in public life as a writer and speaker, and focus on strengthening the Congress party. Moily, a former Karnataka Chief Minister and Union Minister, is known for his work in education and literature.
